The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: Collection One: Eight BBC Radio 4 Full-Cast Dramas

Clive Merrison and Andrew Sachs star in eight original BBC Radio full-cast adventures for Holmes and Watson. How many times did Dr. John Watson tantalize us with passing references to a mystery thathis creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, never wrote about in full? In these original adventures Bert Coules has imaginatively fleshed out eight such unrecorded cases. The Madness of Colonel Warburton: Watson’s old C.O. believes he can speak to the dead. The Star of the Adelphi: A case full of deceit, delusion, and theatrical pretence. The Savior of Cripplegate Square: Holmes recounts one of his most chilling cases. The Singular Inheritance of Miss Gloria Wilson: A thirty year-old mystery is revisited. The Abergavenny Murder: An astonishing fate awaits a visitor to Baker Street. The Shameful Betrayal of Miss Emily Smith: A snow-bound mystery for Holmes. The Tragedy of Hanbury Street: A complex tale of good deeds and deceit in the slums of London. The Determined Client: A family feud ends in bloodshed. Also included is a bonus interview with Bert Coules, the chief dramatist of BBC Radio’s celebrated Sherlock Holmes canon.

Bert Coules is an accomplished radio dramatist. He was the head writer on the BBC's unique project to dramatise every one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, and he went on to create The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes based on references to untold stories in Conan Doyle's originals.
