Hardback, Tall 8vo; 9.5 x 6.5 inches. In light blue cloth with decorative gilt lettering to spine and front, with printed ?Strand Library? vignette to front. Beveled edge boards. Floral endpapers. All page edges gilt. In good condition. Corners and edges a little rubbed, some darkening to spine and around edges of cloth. A couple of small marks to boards. Endpapers lightly tanned, with small cracks between endpapers (paper only) but binding remains nice and tight. Inside some foxing spots on pages, first three pages a little rubbed with light curl on fore edges, else a clean and tight copy. Profusely illustrated by S. Paget. 317pp. POINTS OF FIRST ISSUE: First issue with misprint on page 317 ("Violent" instead of "Violet") and no name on the street sign on the front board, "Southampton Street" on lower spine.
