In 1935, the logistical preparation for the Ethiopian War was the occasion for an ambitious scientific and construction experiment with reinforced concrete in extreme conditions. At a construction site shaped by the military organization of labor, concealed by the action of fascist propaganda, two Italian engineers developed new theories on the behavior of reinforced concrete structures in a tropical climate and invented specific, low-tech construction techniques. Contributeurs: Antonio Becchi, Robert Carvais, Elisa Erioli, Susan Galavan, Ilaria Giannetti, Christel Guillot, Merlijn Hurx, Christelle Inizan, Alain Kersuzan, Philippe Lardin, Carlo Manfredi, Arnaldo Melo, Luca Mocarelli, Jean-Michel Poisson, Nicoletta Rolla et Sandrine Victor.
