The Affairs of Flavie or The Euffe Inheritance, by Gabriel Chevallier, published by Penguin Books in 1955. A Penguin paperback in the classic orange and white livery, numbered 1056 in the Penguin series, with the price of 2/6 printed on the cover. The back cover carries a short author note and a photograph of Gabriel Chevallier. The cover shows toning and spotting consistent with age, with some marks concentrated around the top edge and spine area. The spine shows wear at the head and foot, with a small area of loss at the base. The text block edges have browned with age. The pages photographed from the middle of the book show cream to tan paper with visible foxing spots, and the print remains clear and legible. The front cover retains its colour and lettering well despite the handling marks noted.
