Edel Rodriguez is a Cuban American artist who has exhibited internationally with shows across North America and Europe. Inspired by personal history, religious rituals, politics, memory, and nostalgia, his bold, figurative works are an examination of identity, cultural displacement, and mortality. His work speaks truth to power in the American tradition of the First Amendment and freedom of the press. Throughout his career, Edel has created artwork for numerous clients, including mega brands like Nike, MTV, and Pepsi, and various publications such as The New York Times, TIME Magazine, and The New Yorker. Some of Edel's work can be seen at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., as well as in private collections across the country, but you're most likely to see his work circulating online via reposts from his fans worldwide.
