Add to basketQuarto [32 cm] Light gray cloth over boards with bold black ink stamped titles on the backstrip and front board. Boards very subtly toned at the edges. Minor lean to the spine. Previous owner's name in top right corner of front free endpaper. In the dust jacket, with general mild rubbing and scratching to the front panel, and very occasional short closed tears and chips to the edges. British photographer Sam Haskins (1926-2009) was born and raised in South Africa. He first gained fame as the author and designer of two highly individual and successful books of figure photography, "Five Girls" and "Cowboy Kate" which won the Prix Nadar for 1966. Like his earlier books. "African Image" is designed with vigor and exuberance. It is Haskin's personal and visual statement about the Africa which trained his eye and in which he grew up, and will appeal strongly to anyone in any way interested in the visual arts. No additional printings listed on copyright page.
