After Midnight

Sometimes the person who brings you back to life is the one you never expected to find.

After twenty years in the Army, Caleb Wilson is finally home.

He should be ready to start the next chapter of his life. Instead, the widowed father is struggling to adjust to a world that moved on without him. His wife is gone. His teenage son barely knows him. And the memories Caleb carried home are proving much harder to leave behind.

Then he walks into the Moonlight Diner after midnight.

Sarah is twenty-six, working the graveyard shift while taking college classes and trying to build the future she once thought she'd lost. Years after a devastating betrayal left her humiliated and estranged from her parents, she's still searching for a place where she truly belongs.

Neither of them is looking for love.

But quiet conversations across a diner counter become walks home, shared confidences, and a connection neither Caleb nor Sarah can ignore. For the first time in years, Caleb begins to imagine a life beyond grief and the Army. And with Caleb, Sarah discovers what it feels like to have someone see her for who she really is instead of who others believe her to be.

Falling in love may be the easy part.

Because the past isn't finished with either of them—and when old wounds, family secrets, and a dangerous threat collide, Caleb and Sarah will have to decide whether the life they're beginning to build together is worth fighting for.

After Midnight is a steamy and emotional contemporary romance about a widowed military veteran, a woman rebuilding her life, unexpected love, family, healing, and finding hope in the hours when the rest of the world is asleep.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Michael Geraghty relocated to the small town of Monroe, New York, in 1978 and has resided there ever since. He has been writing since childhood, earning a BA in English from SUNY New Paltz and an MA in English from Western Connecticut State University. He spent years working for the West Point Association of Graduates before some life-changing events occurred, changing his outlook on life forever.

Luckily, that included finding his way into the world of writing, first with Scarlet Lantern Publishing and then with his own publishing imprint, Hold Fast Publishing. He has since published twelve books, all of which are contemporary, small-town romances that reflect his strong views of family, friendship, humor, faith, and relationships.

Michael lives happily with his wife of over thirty years, Michelle, in Harriman, New York, and his beloved King Charles Cavalier, Chester, and has a son, Sean.
