After the rain (Paperback)

It had stopped so abruptly, almost as quickly as it started. A game of Scrabble, a glass of wine, candlelight, the sound of the wind blowing and the rain on the roof, helps to make for a wonderfully romantic night for Grant and Perry. Until the thunder crashes and then all hell breaks loose. Putting more of a strain on this home than the protective windows can take. After the rain is a short story that teeters the diversity of relationships in the gay community as well as the many challenges for any couple. It stems from a man that has a simple dream for his life and the need to find that one man to help him live it.

So - you've seen my name, so mentioning that again seems redundant - What you may not know is that I currently live in Florida with my partner David Rule. David and I own and operate the Ladybug Shop, in Treasure Island. He is a very talented artist, and I try to find time to write in the mornings or later in the day. My favorite place to write is on the beach (we're just 400 ft away from the Gulf of Mexico - yes it is outstanding). I have four children - all adults now, and three grandchildren. With all this I'm feeling pretty good for "54" and I do my best to enjoy life, pretending that I'm still 25 most of the time. Also - with all this I have plenty of story lines to pull from. As you can imagine - we all have our moments. As for my writing - I try to write about the everyday things in life, sharing the movie that plays out in my head that eventually ends up on paper. I most generally stay away from the themes of the very rich or the outrageous ideas that cloud the story. Writing about the happenings in a person's life, that would be unknown to the rest of us, that is what intrigues me the most. Expanding on their particular situations and directing their lives actually brings a great deal of happiness to me and I find it much more interesting. Hmmmm, I wonder what that says about me? In fact - I find myself getting so caught up in the stories that the characters become my mental friends. Once the stories complete I tend to miss and grieve for them. Silly I know - but life shouldn't be too serious. And that's pretty much my hope for you as a reader of my books. I hope that you're able to get lost in the story, love or hate the characters and enjoy the story lines. So much so that you're finding yourself becoming good friends with the people you're reading about. Becoming a part of their lives and the story.
