And Yet Again...

"And Yet Again..." continues in the great tradition of acerbic, tongue-in-cheek essays of its predecessors "A Double Dozen and Six," and "More of the Same." There are stories of an ill-fated trip to Costa Rica on the cheap; writing a college textbook; ice fishing; a cat's life from the cat's perspective; the failure, repeatedly, to pass a PhD German language exam; a companionable grandmother fishing companion, and a one-act play. There is Dr Guru who holds forth on a variety of topics from the calendar to the reason memories are less retrievable with age; a description of winter in a northern Michigan cabin and a comparison of Arkansas and New Zealand fishing guides; there is a short story about a high school reunion. In short this is a potpourri of eighteen short, humorous pieces, designed to reduce the angst of daily living. One might even find the occasional essay thought provoking; hey, it's possible!
