Against Celsus / Contra Celsum The Complete English Translation from the Fourth Volume of the Ante-Nicene Fathers; Now Presented in a New Edition with Introduction and Notes Revised

Written in A.D. 248, Origen’s great apologetical work answers the attack on Christianity by the pagan philosopher Celsus. Origen's refutation of Celsus’s self-styled "True Discourse" belongs to the latest years of his life. It has always been regarded as the great apologetic work of antiquity; and no one can peruse it without being struck by the multifarious reading, wonderful acuteness, and rare subtlety of mind that it displays. It well deserves the notice of the students of Apologetics and of Early Christianity in general. This new edition features revised notes, a revised introduction, and a freshly-typeset text.
