Jim narrowly misses becoming another victim of mass-murderer Dennis Neilson when he is invited back for a night cap. He leaps into the River Thames to try to save three tiny children from drowning. Wearing only his swimming trunks he arrests 'dippers' in Hyde Park; he solves the mystery of the amorous Swedish au pair; and he describes his colourful encounters with the politicians, royals, actresses, villains and heroes who make up the 'manor' he polices. Injured several times on duty, broken but not bowed, this is Jim's fascinating and moving true story.
