Octavo, jacket designed by Barbara McPencow, yellow cloth boards with metallic purple spine and cover imprinting (see scan), top edges red, 306 pp. Fine, flawless book in a better than Very Good jacket, bright and unclipped, which shows minor spine top tatter, faint soil on front cover (see scan). The subhead of Braden's title could be the subhead for a book just being written now; the ongoing dissonance between technological development instincts and cultural / spiritual instincts is still with us, though cast in a different mood than it was in 1970.
