Aggressive: The Inherent Violence of My Beastly Unbecoming

This edition is a re-imagining of the original Aggressive, containing revised and edited content, as well as 19 completely new items. The title poem aggressive, like much art, was born in a moment of frustration. Fortunately, there is beauty in proudly diplayed scars. The Inherent Violence of My Beastly Unbecoming follows the progression from an innocent child though faith and love, who finally comes to recognize a world, at once violent and beautiful, that can never again be an appropriate place for so idealistic a young, black mind. This collection of poems and creative musings is intended to inspire, uplift, and amuse the reader through mild irreverence, humorous observation, and deeply introspective honesty.
