Very good light blue cloth boards, hardback, wth gilt lettering to the spine and front board, 7.5 x 5.5 inches approx. , very good dust jacket with some wear to the extremitis, bright and clean, not price clipped, no inscriptions, varied contents in very good condition, contemporary advertisements pages 1-4, title page is page 5, 257 numbered pages, these do include a few more contemporary advertisements, main contents being Pre-flight planning, information about Civil Airfields and their general facilities, followed by details of individual civil airfields from A-Z that is Aberdeen - Yeovil, each with a diagram of the airfield, this is followed by Military Airfields without diagrams, Privat Airfields and Landing Fields again without diagrams, on page 190 and 191 there are diagrams of London (Gatwick) Heliport and London Westland Heliport, Page 192 shows a map of 'Westland Heliport London Helicopter Entry Exit Lanes', after this there is a list of Gliding Airfields and Sites, Control Zones, Navigation Aids, The Decca Navigator System with diagram, Decca Co-ordinates, Aeronautical Light Beacons, National Aviation Clubs and Societies, Meteorologicial Offices, Military and Ministry Airfield phone numbers, Abbreviations, Conversion Tables pages 247-257 followed by Barometric Pressure Conversion. The pace of aviation progress is extremely fast and things will have changed greatly over 40 years. A fascinating book for pilots and followers of aviation history and development.
