Airfields of the Eighth: Then and Now (Special Presentation Issue)

Finely textured and embossed red leather boards with a 4 inch brass medallion embedded on the front cover. Minimal wear inside and out. Beau livre relie 21,5 x 30,5 cm., 240 pages, 400 photos and 70 maps with fantastic aerial views; 2nd revised edition; gift inscription facing title page otherwise in excellent condition. Accompanying the book is the promotional brochure/order form for the book, consisting of 16 panels 156 x 223 matted color graphics folding out to reveal a poster. This brochure clearly offers two formats to the 1978 publication. The trade edition has a DJ; the "Special Presentation Issue" is taller and instead of a DJ it has the medallion. Needless to say the deluxe edition has higher production values and is more scarce. The brochure also states that accompanying the book is a "25in x 35in full colour B-17 Flying Fortress poster factsheet by aviation artist John Young" which this copy indeed has. So we have a lot of three items all in near fine condition (opens readily to pastedowns).…
