After finishing art school in the 1980s, he worked in publishing as a graphic designer and contributed articles and artwork to modelling titles like Scale Aircraft Modelling, Scale Models International and Plastic Kit Constructor. Jonathan now works on a freelance basis, researching and designing decal artwork for Airfix along with producing work for other companies such as The Aviation Workshop, a job he describes as 'the perfect blend of my modelling, historical and artistic interests'.
