Very good. 1919. Quarto. EX-LIBRARY with the expected stamps and markings. Olive cloth with pictorial illustration in blue and red. Minor edgewear to boards and very minor pushing-in to head and foot of spine with minor bruising to corners. Lavishly illustrated by Thomas Mackenzie. All 12 plates are present, bright, and clean. Many of the tissue guards have been torn out leaving traces of former tissue and glue in the gutters. There are occasional library stamps throughout, but no scribbles or drawings. Top edge gilt. Rear pastedown library pocked is stamped "Withdrawn from the collection of the Windsor Public Library." Any traces of labels or stickers to the spine and boards have been delicately and successfully removed by a previous owner. Overall, a tight copy that presents well on the shelf. Securely shipped in a box.
