A scarce work.A lovely volume of plates displaying the charming beauties of Germany, in particular the areas along the Rhine. Presenting views of Wiesbaden, Ems, Schwalbach, and Der Rhein.With a chromolithograph title, and a chromolithograph title to each of the four parts, alongside eighty steel-engraved plates.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library. In a full morocco binding. Externally, a little rubbed with light marks. Minor bumping to the extremities. Small tear to the tail of the front joint. A couple of small chips to the joints and spine. Hinges have been reinforced. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound, a few plates are detached but present. Pages are a little age-toned with scattered spots. Repaired tear to the chromolithograph title for 'Wiesbaden'. Chromolithograph titles are discoloured. Good.
