On The Algebraical And Numerical Theory Of Errors Of Observations: And The Combination Of Observations (1875)

""On The Algebraical And Numerical Theory Of Errors Of Observations: And The Combination Of Observations"" is a book written by George Biddell Airy and originally published in 1875. The book explores the mathematical methods used to analyze and quantify errors in scientific observations, with a particular focus on astronomical observations. Airy discusses the various sources of error that can affect observations, such as instrument limitations, atmospheric conditions, and human error. He also presents methods for combining multiple observations to obtain more accurate results. The book is written in a technical and mathematical style, and assumes a solid understanding of algebra and calculus. It is considered a classic work in the field of statistics and scientific measurement, and has been influential in the development of modern statistical methods. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
