Stamp mark from the previous owner on the front free end page. No date stated, c1900. Frontispiece in color. The pictorial boards are frayed along the spine edges and a chipped piece missing from the front corner edge (20x15mm). There is foxing around the block of the book and on the end pages. Internally there are no markings or inscriptions. The binding has sinfully been repaired. GK. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.

Chapter 1 trades out of three premises that are all in the Johannesburg area. Our emphasis is providing quality books at highly competitive prices. A large (and continuously growing) selection of our books are listed on various websites on the internet.
We post on a daily basis to all parts of the world. All our books are parcelled in tissue paper, bubble wrap, card board and strong brown paper. If the book has a dust jacket it is provided with a protective cellophane sleeve. We supply a tracking number on every parcel that we post.
We specialise in Modern First Editions, Rhodesiana, Africana and other rare and out of print books. We are always looking to buy interesting and unusual books and libraries in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We are prepared to travel within the greater Johannesburg and Cape Town area if the quantity warrants it.
