"En realidad este poema fue empezado en 1918 a ra�z de la publicaci�n de Ecuatorial (Madrid julio 1918) pero entonces solo escrib� el Prefacio y el Primer Canto. Todo el resto fue escrito en 1919 y corregido en 1920. En octubre de 1919 Cansinos Assens habl� de �l en la "Correspondencia de Espa�a". Equivocadamente dio a todo el poema el t�tulo del prefacio 'Altazor o El Viaje en Paraca�das'". Vicente Huidobro
