Always Safe: Learn to Win Without Fighting

Each of us is blessed with a "sixth sense" about danger. This book aims to underscore the importance of listening to that internal warning system and developing and improving it. Awareness is a practiced skill and can prevent good people from falling prey to those who look for easy targets. You are responsible for your personal safety. It is not the purview of law enforcement to protect us. Their job is to arrest those who commit crimes against us. We are our own first responders, and it is the purpose of this book to arm us with heightened awareness and skilled planning to avoid confrontations.

TJ Johnston founded the Kung Fu Club at Cal State University Fullerton in 1971 under Sifu Ted Lai. Under his leadership, the club adopted full contact sparring (before MMA). He became an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor in 1986 and created his business AllSafe Defense System. This allowed him to combine defensive firearms with unarmed self-defense training. In 1990, Mr. Johnston was appointed a Training Counselor by the NRA and began training instructors. He is also credentialed as a Chief Range Safety Officer and an online Professor for the NRA's Refuse to be a Victim program.
