Always a Way

In Always a Way, Alan Way offers a luminous cross-cultural memoir about signs, timing, faith, family, and the exquisite intelligence of life's turning points. Born and raised in Shanghai, Alan learned early that meaning often arrives quietly: in an underground Christmas gathering, a gold devotional medal selected by chance, a hidden pivot that signaled it was time to leave, a business disappointment that later became preparation, or an unexpected conversation that opened a new future. The small moments he might have dismissed became the beginnings of major turns.

But Always a Way is not a book about superstition or simple optimism. It is a memoir of reframing. Alan looks back on the visible and invisible forces that shaped his life (Catholic faith, Chinese culture, family inheritance, feng shui, global business, marriage, fatherhood, service, and reinvention) and asks how we learn to recognize guidance when logic alone is not enough.

With warmth, humor, and hard-earned perspective, Alan invites readers to rethink the events they once misunderstood: the closed door that became protection, the failure that became preparation, the delay that became mercy, the relationship that softened ambition, and the uncertainty that revealed another path. As long as we keep looking, learning, adjusting, and listening, there is always a way.

Alan Way is a Rémy Cointreau executive, global brand builder, and cross-cultural strategist whose life and career have been shaped by signs, timing, faith, family, and the courage to follow unexpected turns. Born and raised in Shanghai, he came of age during a period of profound change in China and went on to build a career across luxury spirits, hospitality, consumer brands, and international business. He is also the co-founder of Relay of Love Foundation, a community-centered initiative designed to bring practical care and protection to vulnerable loved ones. Through his writing, photography, service work, and mentorship, Alan explores how small signs can shape big decisions and how meaning often reveals itself only when we slow down enough to notice. Alan lives in New York with his wife, Vivian, and is the proud father of his two sons, Orsen and Victor.
