The Ambassadors

Aliens arrive, not to kill and destroy, but to help humanity. Two genetically engineered beings unexpectedly land at Kennedy Space Center. They have come to Earth as ambassadors bringing an offer of partnership in a confederation of civilizations. Technological advances are offered as part of the partnership. But humans must learn to cooperate among themselves to receive the benefits.

The alien pair is attractive, personable, and telegenic—the ideal talk-show guests. But their understanding of humanity is totally based on intercepted radio waves, especially TV. They commit many faux pas, thereby jeopardizing their mission.

Molly, a network reporter, and Paul, a NASA scientist, are assigned to tutor the interstellar ambassadors in human ways and act as their guides. The human pair observes as the media uses the extraterrestrials’ presence to invoke fear and to advance self-serving agendas. Rather than face difficult choices, special interests start to blame the messengers for mankind’s problems. For their protection, Molly and Paul hide the aliens. The human pair lays down red-herring clues to keep them hidden.

A human-generated crisis erupts that threatens to exterminate mankind. With Molly and Paul’s support, the aliens phone home for help. They emerge from hiding to try leading diverse parts of mankind to cooperate in order to save everyone.
