Ambient Integrated Robotics: Automation and Robotic Technologies for Maintenance, Assistance, and Service

The new research field of Ambient/Active Assisted Living (AAL) is quickly evolving. Ambient Integrated Robotics provides an easy-to-understand medical perspective to architects, designers, and engineers, bridging the different disciplines and showing how they fuse together to create the future of AAL technology. Thomas Bock is a professor of building realization and robotics at Technische Universität München (TUM). He is a member of several boards of directors of international associations and of several international academies in Europe, Americas and Asia. Professor Bock serves on several editorial boards, heads various working commission and groups of international research organizations, authored and co-authored the Cambridge Handbooks on Construction Robotics series and about 500 articles.

Thomas Linner is a research associate in building realization and robotics at Technische Universität München (TUM). He is a specialist in the area of automated production of building products as well as in the enhancement of the performance of building products by advanced technology. Dr Linner has received several prizes and grants, including a Japanese Center of Excellence Grant for research in Japan.

Jörg Güttler is a registered Ph.D. Student at the Chair for Building Realization and Robotics, at the Technische Universität München. His research interests are Ambient/Active Assisted Living (AAL), health monitoring, disease prevention, embedded sensors, medical devices, wearable robotics and human-machine interfaces.

Kepa Iturralde is a research associate at the Chair of Building Realization and Robotics at the Technische Universität München. He is focused on developing robotic, automation and digital manufacturing technology into building renovation.
