Christians talk about prayer all the time – but when the time comes to actually pray, do you feel confident? Are you sure you know what to say? Do you secretly wonder if you’re bothering God? And (let’s be real) does prayer even work? Why is prayer such a focus for Christians, and how can we be sure we’re doing it right?

Our source of Truth has the answers. Through every genre of writing, every emotion of the human experience, and every season of biblical history, prayer rushes through the veins of Scripture like blood through a body. From Adam’s exclamation of praise in Genesis to the roars of the saints in Revelation – the Bible’s pages are threaded together with prayer.

Amen. is a six-week, in-depth Bible study that explores five genres of prayer found in Scripture: confession, concern, lament, praise, and intercession. Each week, we’ll examine a specific prayer found in the Bible, and ask questions of the text together –

• Who was praying?
• Why were they praying?
• What historical, cultural, and personal circumstances surrounded their prayer?
• What did they say when they prayed?
• Did God respond to their prayers?
• And, maybe most importantly, how can elements of these biblical prayers be applied to our prayer lives today?

If you’ve ever hoped for a place to ask all of your questions about prayer, to learn about this vital spiritual discipline from a biblical perspective, or to have space to practice building the habit of prayer, then Amen. is for you. Let’s study God’s Word together as a team!
