The second of four self-published pamphlets by the one-time Chinese vice consul Ralph Townsend who would be arrested in 1942 for failure to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938. Townsend admitted to being paid by Japan, although he claimed that it was just for copies of his works not for propagandizing on their behalf. In America Has No Enemies in Asia!, Townsend claims that the U.S. has no stake in the Sino-Japanese conflict and that the Soviet Union (with British support) is initiating a proxy war that it's hoping to draw America into. Townsend followed this pamphlet with two more titles while becoming increasingly involved in the American First Committee. Stapled wrappers printed in red and blue, 48 pp., illustrated. Ownership signature of Boston socialite and crusading anti-suffragist Mrs. Albert T. Leatherbee to the front cover, with underlining and marginalia by her throughout the text. Otherwise a near fine copy of a scarce title.
