The American Accent Guide, 2nd Edition, consists of a 237-page book accompanied by nearly 8 hours of audio. In this version the audio is on 1 CD in MP3 format. Reading the reviews for both versions is recommended. This internationally acclaimed accent reduction program is the most comprehensive of its kind, yet simple and concise due to its organization. It addresses the entire sound system of English speech, giving focus to all the elements of intonation, stress, rhythm and each of the individual speech sounds. About the Author
Beverly A. Lujan began her studies in Speech-Language Pathology and linguistics at San Diego State University with the interest of gaining expertise at providing accent modification training to non-native speakers of English. She completed her studies at The University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, where she earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Speech-Language Pathology. In addition to specializing in the training of language, voice, and articulation, she took elective courses in ESL, and did independent research to further her expertise in accent training. Beverly has supervised graduate students at the University of Utah, in their preparation in accent modification training.
In 1990, Beverly founded the Lingual Arts School where she has provides American accent training to English learners from countries the world-over, serving individuals as well as corporations. Her method of addressing the entire sound system of the American English sound system evolved into a complete and comprehensive book and audio program, The American Accent Guide, with the first release in 1999. Beverly continues to provide her consulting services to corporations and individuals.
