About the Author

Nate Swick is editor of the American Birding Association blog, author of Birding for the Curious, and a contributor to the 10,000 Birds blog. Outside of birding, he is an environmental educator and interpretive naturalist. He particularly enjoys patch birding in the western Piedmont near his home in Greensboro, North Carolina. Brian E. Small has been a full-time, professional bird and nature photographer for more than 25 years.
