I gave this book a fair rating for the following reasons; Leather boards are worn and stained, spine ends discolored at top and chipped and worn at bottom edge. Edges and corners worn, front board is loose but for a single binding string at center. Spine is coming loose at foredge, spine gilt is worn but readable, spine has cracking in the leather and some splitting. The contents are a lot better. All pages are intact and complete. At the rear, the last two blank pages with the endpaper are loose from the book. Rear pastedown has some bubbling and darkening, gutter at rear split but hanging on. Tissue intact over Webster engraving. Some old water staining at the foredge on the pages extending into the book about 1-1 1/2 inches. Pages have some wrinkling. So, rough on the outside and good on the inside. Very heavy book requires extra shipping.
