About the Author

As senior vice-president of scientific affairs of the American Heart Association, Rodman D. Starke, M.D., directs all science activities of the American Heart Association. Mary Winston, Ed.D., R.D., is senior science consultant of the American Heart Association at their national headquarters in Dallas.
