Item description from seller

Another of the Anchor mass market paperbacks (#A12) so highly prized because the late, great illustrator Edward Gorey had a hand in their artwork. On this one, his contribution is unattributed, but verified per Toledano's bibliography. In 253 pages with Index & list of other Anchor titles in rear.Orig. published in 1931, this edition with the Gorey art came out in 1953; this is the FIRST PRINTING of that edition (First, thus). Condition is VG+: clean & tightly bound, but glued binding is fragile. Very slight rubbing to extremities, heavier at corners. Pages modestly tanned but completely unmarked, with a few very light pencil brackets on a couple of pages only. Nicely protected in new mylar collector bag. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
