This full set of three hefty, large (6-1/2 X 9-1/2 inch) octavo volumes show mixed dates. Furthermore, while both supplements still wear their very-good original jackets -- with some modest closed tears to the edges -- this 1946 fourth edition of "The American Language" carries NO dust jacket. "The American Language" -- 1946 tenth printing of the fourth edition -- is signed in blue ink to the half-title page from "Wilma" to W.A. Spengler (NOT signed by the author.) All three volumes are "very good," NOT ex-library. The two jacketed supplement volumes are ninth and sixth printing, respectively, both from 1962. These are large books; the set of three weigh 8-1/2 lbs. (3.8 kg.) even before boxing, and are likely to cost extra to ship "Priority" or outside the U.S. Reduced from $52.
