First editions. 8vo. Two volumes. Pp Vol 1: viii, 308. Vol 2: vi, 306. Half-title not present to volume 2. Contemporary half calf, marbled boards, rather worn externally, lacks label to vol, clean inside. First issue, with misnumbered prelim to volume 1. Please note faults. However, a clean example with no foxing of this notable first edition in its first state.
