16mo 6" - 7" tall; 251 pages; 1829 R Lockwood, NY. HC in printed paper covered boards and gilt ruled cloth backstrip. 2nd edition after and 1820 printing. An early American school book with intermediate level narrative pieces relating to American history, Scripture as well as charachter formation. Paper covered boards have bordered title printing at front and printer's advertisements on rear surface. Simple gitl ruling acros spine; unlettered, as issued. Sound clean copy has a prior ownership inscription to the front endpage. Cloth rubbed and just a little tender at spine edges. Moderate shelf soiling to board surfaces; expected light toning to paper stock. Sound and attractive. VG-.
