J.H Schultz & Co., Publishers and Proprietors, New York, 1856, January 5th-December 27th, 832 pp, 3/4 leather, 11.5 x 9.25 , 4to. In good condition. Nicely bound in 3/4 leather with tooled tips. Moderate wear to extremities with wear at tips to board. Scuffing to joints and raised bands. Spine ends worn with light chipping. Marbled boards are scuffed overall. Light toning and minor soiling to covers. 46 green sticker placed on fifth compartment. Possibly ex-library. Typed label placed over title label, mostly chipped away. Light scuffing overall to labels. Binder s ticket of John Lovell of Montreal. Sir W.E. Logan plate on pastedown. Sir William Edmond Logan, FRSE FRS FGS, (1798-1875) was a Canadian-born geologist and the founder and first director of the Geological Survey of Canada. Internally good with light toning and minor instances of foxing. Small patch of dampness staining to bottom right corner of title and index. All edges speckled. Binding tight and intact.
