Rascal est n� en Belgique en 1959. Il passe son enfance � Namur. Il a toujours d�test� l'�cole, pr�f�rant les sentiers buissonniers. Ainsi, il est autodidacte ! Apr�s avoir travaill� dans la publicit�, r�alis� des affiches pour le th��tre, et fait plusieurs m�tiers, il d�cide de se consacrer aux livres pour enfants. Il est � la fois auteur et illustrateur mais �crit le plus souvent des histoires pour d'autres artistes. Il a �galement publi� des livres sous le nom de Pascal Nottet et Marie Ghislain. Il a re�u le Grand prix triennal de Litt�rature de jeunesse de la Communaut� fran�aise 2009-2012. "Rascal suscite toujours la r�verie ou l'interrogation. Cet auteur exclusif d'albums esquisse en peu de mots, le rapport de soi au monde, de soi � soi." Bulletin de l'Office du livre en Poitou-Charentes, mars 2000.

N� entre 1969 et 1970, pr�s du Rh�ne et de la Sa�ne, le chalet o� St�phane dort quand il n'y travaille pas, n'est construit ni de b�ton ni de carton, � la lisi�re des pr�s et des bois. L'�t�, les vaches se roulent dans l'herbe tout autour, juste pour le distraire alors qu'il tente de faire ses dessins. Les �ditions Pastel ont publi� le premier album de St�phane. Une quinzaine a suivi depuis 1995. Ses originaux sont expos�s par la galerie "L'art � la page" � Paris.
