Amish Alliance: The Covert Police Detectives Unit, book 9 (Covert Police Detectives Unit Series)

Ava Sullivan's father locked her up in their basement for over ten years--all because she witnessed him attempting to kill her mother.

Once she is finally free, she leaves the Amish and moves to New York City with big plans of going to college for writing--instead, she is tricked and lured into forced prostitution with the false promises of getting a publishing contract.

After she testifies against the criminals in court who stole two years of her life, she decides to go back to Unity, Maine to see her friends from childhood even though her pimp threatens to track her down and kill her if he ever gets out of prison.

While she's in Unity, Detective Theo Kingsley stops by to visit and check on the Amish families who were victims of the kidnapping cases he investigated not long ago. When he meets Ava while visiting the Kulp family, he is instantly drawn to her.

Detective Theo Kingsley never thought he'd never find love again after his wife was killed in a hit-and-run in New York City.

Ava wants to get to know him and let him into her life, but she is afraid she will never trust any man ever again. With his kindness and humor, he breaks down her walls, and she finds herself wanting to open her heart to him.

When a threat from her past comes after her and she is accused of murder, Theo may be the one person who can protect her.

Trigger warning: While this is a clean, Christian story with no on-page violence or sex, this book does contain a minor being locked in a basement. It refers to prostitution and domestic violence but does not show it.
