A decent hardback copy with a bit of shelf wear, although the binding is secure and the main contents are clean and complete. This title is an abridgement of The Heart of a Continent. The upper cover is a bit marked on its right-hand side, and there is a short tear to the joint on the lower cover (at the top). There are a few blemishes on the front paste-down and free endpaper. There is some quite noticeable foxing to the rear paste-down. There is some foxing to the tissue guarding the frontispiece and to the title page. All the illustrations are present, but just under half have been slightly misplaced (by just a page). The folding map at rear has obviously been quite heavily referred to and is folded slightly clumsily. Overall, a decent copy with a bit of foxing and shelf wear.
