Bound in tan calf with gilt lines to spine. Title label is missing. Front shoulder is cracked. Rear board is detached but present. Front endpaper and flyleaf are missing. Frontispiece is damaged with loss in two places and tears and staining. Previous owner's signature at top of frontispiece dated 1797. Pages are age tanned with occasional foxing. Pencilled scribbles on several pages.
