About this Item

Charles Sanders (1805-+1889) was a prolific author of text books for students--he specialized in spellers, readers, grammars, rhetoric, etc. First published in 1859, this book has an 1864 date on the front cover and an 1866 date on the title page. There is a faint old owner name on the front end paper (Jennie Curtis, Mich.), and a later small old previous owner Private Library sticker on the upper corner of the front paste down (Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Struble). This book is in the original covers with a black leather spine and printed, paper-covered boards. The the gilt spine lettering is still bright; there is a little wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The paper-covered boards has the normal wear, but the black elttering is quite legible; the edges of th covers are worn. The contents are mostly clean and bright, but there is an old stain on the lower corner of about the last fifty pages. ; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 240 pages. Seller Inventory # 20520
