There are only 9 copies of various long runs of the journal, most of which are outside the U.S. [++] Includes the following: Charles Kummel, "An Account of Cauchy's Calcul des Residues" (in two parts); A.B. Nelson, "General Orders for the Formation of Magic Squares of All Orders"; T.P. Stowell, "Problem Relative to the Move of a Knight at the Game of Chess", and numerous others. [++] "Joel E Hendricks was an American mathematician important as the founder of The Analyst journal." --MacTutor St. Andrews The Analyst was published 1874-1883, when Hendricks gave it over, with the journal beginning a new and very long life as the Annals of Mathematics, which in 1933 would be commanded by Princeton and the IAS, which continues to this day.
