The item may have been opened and read, but it has no defects. This is a review of designs of F1 cars at a time when there were few rules to make FI races into TV spectaculars as there are now. It did lead to the use of qualifying engines which only lasted for a relatively few laps and were then replaced by a lower output (more reliable) engine for the race, but otherwise regulation was simply to give a level playing field for all competitors, for example a set engine size. There were sensible rules to make F1 cars safer but an ethic within teams of making their cars faster than their opponents prevailed and allowed designers to innovate and produce features which then contributed to car design in every category - F1 was there to improve the breed.
