Original Hard Cover Binding. Poor. Third Edition. Oblong (6 1/4" x 9 7/8"). As this copy lacks its title page, dedication page, part of the bottom of two leaves, and two-thirds of the final leaf, photocopies of the missing parts have been added to the book (although even the photocopies of the title page, dedication page, and, to a much lesser extent, the final leaf, are incomplete, as the leaves from the copy from which they were made, from the Harvard Divinity Library, were imperfect; also, the copies completing the bottom of two leaves were attached in an unattractive though serviceable way); binding is extremely worn and chipped, with dried spine leather peeling off; fore edge has soil; hinges broken, with covers secured to text block securely with two old embedded linen strips each; former owner's signature and much old pencilling on inside front and back covers; interior has much soil, foxing and wear; a well-worn reading copy only.
