What if the past could become one of the most exciting things a child reads about, filled with powerful leaders, legendary heroes, mysterious beliefs, thrilling competitions, clever inventions, and surprising everyday discoveries?
Many children find history difficult because traditional history books can feel like long lists of dates, names, and unfamiliar facts. Important ideas may be presented without enough context to help young readers understand why they mattered. This can make learning feel like memorizing information for a test instead of discovering fascinating stories about real people and the world they created. Children may also struggle to connect historical events with everyday life, leaving them wondering what people ate, how they learned, what they believed, how they traveled, how they entertained themselves, and what life was really like thousands of years ago.
This book provides a more engaging way to learn. Written especially for young readers, it presents important historical ideas through clear explanations, fascinating facts, memorable stories, quizzes, creative activities, and thought provoking challenges. Complex subjects are explained in age appropriate language while important historical details are preserved. Readers are encouraged to think like young historians by comparing evidence, questioning popular myths, understanding different perspectives, and recognizing the difference between legends and historical evidence.
Inside, young readers can expect to:
- Discover fascinating stories about legendary figures, rulers, warriors, and ordinary people.
- Learn about powerful beliefs, ancient traditions, and remarkable achievements.
- Explore exciting public entertainment, competitions, and spectacular events.
- Discover how people lived, learned, worked, traveled, ate, and communicated.
- Understand how roads, buildings, water systems, and other inventions changed everyday life.
- Explore famous archaeological discoveries and what they reveal about the past.
- Learn about important women, rebels, enslaved people, soldiers, merchants, and families.
- Test their knowledge with engaging chapter quizzes.
- Complete creative activities that make historical concepts easier to remember.
- Develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a stronger appreciation for history.
Whether used at home, in a classroom, or as an independent reading activity, this book gives children an enjoyable way to build historical knowledge while developing the habit of asking thoughtful questions about the past.
Give a young reader the opportunity to discover a fascinating world of stories, discoveries, challenges, and unforgettable facts. Add this engaging history book to their bookshelf today and make learning an experience they will want to continue.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
