Ancient Science, or Secrets of Pyramids, Walls and Temples: To Which Is Added a Short Review of Piazzi Smyth's "Our Inheritance in the Great Pyramid" (Classic Reprint)

Unlock the riddles of the pyramids and the long arc of their history. This book surveys the great pyramids of Gyzeh, tracing how ancient and later writers described their origins, measures, and possible meanings.

It offers a careful look at what is known, what is debated, and how different traditions have interpreted stone, ratio, and scale. The text weighs scientific claims against historic sources, showing how measurements and constellations have fed into enduring theories and modern critiques.

Readers will follow chapters that connect architectural size to ancient systems of length, and see how scholars have argued about the builders, the tools, and the purpose behind these monumental structures. The discussion moves from early attributions to specific pyramids, toward a broader reflection on how such monuments shape our view of ancient knowledge and its limits.

• Exposure to historical sources and debates about who built the pyramids and why.
• Explanation of how measurements and units from different eras influence views of the pyramids.
• Analysis of how modern researchers evaluate long-held assumptions and new hypotheses.
• Context for the role of pyramids in broader discussions of science, history, and interpretation.

Ideal for readers curious about ancient architecture, numerical curiosities, and how scholars balance evidence with interpretation.
