Angel's Gate: Book One of the ShadowGate Series

Every family has secrets…
Raised in a faith she never believed, raised by a mother who had been terrified of angels, inscribing charms and spells on the doorframes to keep them “safe”, AG Morris’ childhood had been filled with fear, and a belief in unseen things. Wanting a “normal” life, one in which she didn’t have to fear things she knew didn’t exist, AG left home the day she turned eighteen. Turning her back on the stories her mother told, on the beliefs that had shaped her, she set out to build a new life. Now a woman of almost thirty, she has a career she loves, a life she loves. The fears of her childhood are faded memories, almost forgotten.
Almost…
Sometimes going home opens doors that were never meant to opened...
A phone call and four simple words shattered AG’s entire world: “Your mother is dead.”
Devastated by her mother’s sudden death, AG returns home to say goodbye. In the house where she denied her mother’s fantastic beliefs, she comes face to face with a reality that should not exist. The fantasies of her mother’s troubled mind are real. Angels are real. Heaven and hell are real. She learns of her past, a past she never wanted to believe. She learns of the Fall, how Lucifer rebelled and fell from Grace. How heaven was ripped apart by war, until Lucifer and his followers were cast out of Heaven, and banished to Earth. She learns that the path back to Heaven was sealed to Lucifer and his DownCast angels, locked behind a barrier called the Gate. A gate that can only be opened by the Key.
Hidden in the hearts of mortal men and women, hidden from the DownCast and defended by the Guardian Angels, the Key is descended from a sacred bloodline. A bloodline from which she is descended. Through her mother she is the Key, the only being capable of opening the gateway between Heaven and Earth. Through her father, a man she has never met, she learns that she is a Dark Nephilim. She is the daughter of a fallen angel, a creature that targeted her mother to create her. A being that will do anything to turn her to Darkness.
Thrown into a world she never knew, AG must choose which path to follow. Her father wants her to choose the Darkness and lead the Fallen angels back into Heaven to wage a war against God. The Guardians, angels of Light who have protected her bloodline since the Fall, want to make sure the Gate remains sealed, even if that means destroying her. She wants to go back to the life she had created, leaving behind this nightmare she now knows is real. Torn by a destiny she cannot escape AG must decide if she will sacrifice herself like her mother did, becoming a prisoner to God’s will, or if she will follow the father she never knew. Only she holds the Key to Heaven, only she can decide whether to serve or rebel.
