The English Standard Version of the Bible has been used based on its adherence to the traditions of the King James Version. It is important to note that 1662, 1928 & 1962 editions of the Book of Common Prayer possess the authority of the standard doctrine. The 1549 preface contained Cranmer's explanation as to why a new prayer book was necessary and the preface to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer expresses the divine intention of our ancient church fathers.
