Angular Desire: Selected Poems and Prose

A rediscovered voice in Indian postcolonial literature. Srinivas Rayaprol's Angular Desire showcases the intense poetry and insightful prose of an enigmatic figure, long omitted from the canon. Torn between his Indian Brahmin roots and Western influences, Rayaprol's work explores cultural hybridity, love, and the search for self with a unique modernist sensibility. This collection, edited by Graziano Krätli and Vidyan Ravinthiran, offers a fresh perspective on Anglo-Indian and American writing. Rayaprol's verses, influenced by William Carlos Williams and resistant to Yvor Winters' formalism, break from established Indian literary traditions. For readers interested in postcolonial identity, modern poetry, and the complexities of cultural belonging, Angular Desire is a compelling rediscovery.
