My Animal Friends

This sweet, little rhyming book reveals what every child knows in his or her heart―that animals are our special friends. There’s a magical connection, a language of love that joins us together without words. Some animals bark, some purr and some coo. In this charming book, young children will love guessing the sounds that animals make.

R. David Stephens is a writer, actor and voice artist. He was born in Los Angeles and is now living in Vancouver. He has taught at the University of San Francisco, Tufts University and Shoreline Community College.

Kathryn E. Shoemaker is the illustrator of many books for children, among them A Telling Time, My Animal Friends and Floyd the Flamingo and his flock of friends for Tradewind Books. She teaches children’s illustration at Langara College in Vancouver, British Columbia.
